English II, World History & 6th Period Intervention: Contact Information, Policies & Absence Work
Hello,
I am JULIE MCKISSICK and I teach Vista's English II, World History and 6th Period
Intervention. I previously taught special education for 15 years at Joan Macy School
on the campus of the David & Margaret Youth and Family Services, and served one year
as a reading specialist at Canyon View School on the campus of McKinley's Children's
Home. I have a Social Studies Single-Subject Secondary Teaching Credential, a VPSS-
Tier II English Teaching Credential, a Special Education Teaching Credential, a Masters
of Special Education , and an Administrative Credential . I love teaching challenging
and at-risk students; my specialty is finding creative, nurturing ways for formally
resistant and discouraged students to enjoy learning. Additionally, I have a special
heart for foster and probation youth. The 1:1 technology and small class sizes we offer
are tremendously motivating and advantageous. I am also pleased to be serving a
second year as teacher-leader of our Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports
System (PBIS).
